2020 Easter: Visions of Rapture

Fanny Crosby, the blind hymn composer, wrote in her song “Blessed Assurance”:

...Visions of rapture, now burst on my sight!
Angels descending, bring from above,
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long!
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

For a second Saturday in a row, my husband and the girls video-conferenced as a family with our boys, who are doing pandemic sheltering in their separate apartments. We’re going to try to do this regularly each week! I’m glad for this hopefully new tradition even after sheltering comes to an end. Before, with everyone’s busy schedules, including my own, it was hard to be together as a whole family.

And, as for me and my parents, instead of FaceTiming them in Taiwan 2 to 3 times a week, I’ve been FaceTiming them every night at 10 pm and they really like that! —It’s such an easy access that I have had at my fingertips.

And in the superlative and by analogy, I therefore know:
Sit downs with our God, mean a lot to Him. I’m trying to do that more but not there yet for sure, but am happy for that 24/7 connection with our Father, even when I “slumber” in many ways.

😉

Praising God for the connection we get to have because of the Cross.
Praising God that I don’t have to have “perfect” attendance of sit-downs with Him to be loved,
or perfect “sit-down” quality times with Him to show improvement, holiness, or sincerity.
I don’t even have to be perfect ANYTHING in my daily living! —Because Jesus lived the perfect, sinless life, day by day, all the way to the Cross, to set me free to live my day by days with Him.

And when the Son sets us free, we are truly freed indeed.

Hallelujah that this opened-up relationship with God, through Jesus’ Sacrifice, brings us Life and life abundant!

—I feel like my husband’s brain surgery and long recuperation at home, and then the continued pandemic sheltering, have allowed me to slow down to meditate and “set my heart on things above” more...And on my husband more too, of course.

😁

My heart is full this Easter—very much risen from the grave, to join the choirs of angels and the saints above, along with the saints here on earth, to sing the eternally being sung songs of praise to our God!

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!

May 2020 bring visions of rapture of our true identity, reality, and life in Christ.

Happy Easter to you all—
Jesus has risen!
