We seek to demonstrate God's love by engaging in actions and movements that bring peace, hope, and justice to the city of Oakland, the East Bay, and our world.
As a church, many of us serve kids, youth, adults, and seniors on our campus on a weekly basis. Besides the volunteering opportunities that are happening weekly on our campus, we are active in serving Oakland and the greater East Bay areas. For more information about local outreach FCC is a part of, reach out to us.
Volunteers will be helping the staff with classroom organization, book leveling, general maintenance, gardening, IKEA bookshelf assembling, setting up sun sails for shade, and cleaning projects. Coordinated by Project Peace of the East Bay. Learn more about Day of Service here.

Just 1 hour per week in spring and summer can help a young adult prepare for their crucial final years of high school. Be a positive role model for youth by listening to them, helping them make positive choices, and providing them with a glimpse at what a great career looks like. We provide the training. You provide the wisdom.

Our ESL class is held twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, at Laurel Elementary School. We have had the privilege of working with people from Mexico, Yemen, China, and Nigeria. English abilities have varied widely so we have sought to make instruction accessible for very beginners and challenging for more fluent speakers. Through visual aids, practice activities, lots of repetition, and fun we have attempted to share God's love with these English learners by caring for them as they navigate our culture.
